Transforming the lives of over 15,500 families in Chennai
The people's audit report and follow-up activities brings froth in the lives of over 15,500 families of deprived urban communities in Chennai
As a result of the people's audit report over 15,500 families availed the following benefits:
- Water supply increased from 4 pots of water once in every 4 days to water supply on a daily basis
- 5 new toilets with water supply for the primary school
- 60 functional mercury lights to ensure safety for women in the settlement
- Increase to 18 ICDS centres
- Two buses specially for the children to commute to school
- Of the total 14 kilometers of road, new roads are laid for 3 kilometers and the work is in progress
- Sanctioning of 5 crore for additional higher secondary school in the settlement
- Sanctioning of 5 crore for Urban Health Post
- Sanctioning of 82 lakh for Corporation Unit Office within the settlement
- Development of 4 parks proposed for
