Transforming the lives of over 15,500 families in Chennai

The people's audit report and follow-up activities brings froth in the lives of over 15,500 families of deprived urban communities in Chennai



As a result of the people's audit report over 15,500 families availed the following benefits:

  1. Water supply increased from 4 pots of water once in every 4 days to water supply on a daily basis
  2. 5 new toilets with water supply for the primary school
  3. 60 functional mercury lights to ensure safety for women in the settlement
  4. Increase to 18 ICDS centres
  5. Two buses specially for the children to commute to school
  6. Of the total 14 kilometers of road, new roads are laid for 3 kilometers and the work is in progress
  7. Sanctioning of 5 crore for additional higher secondary school in the settlement
  8. Sanctioning of 5 crore for Urban Health Post
  9. Sanctioning of 82 lakh for Corporation Unit Office within the settlement
  10. Development of 4 parks proposed for 
IRCDUC is following up on the same and another research study will soon be launched in this site...
